If you had to choose just one temple in Beijing, it would most certainly be this one for the beauty of its roofs, its fascinating frescoes, its magnificent tapestries, its sublime arches, its Tibetan prayer wheels and also for its sublime statues.\r\n\r\nIt is located in the northeast of the city, not far from the Temple of Confucius, and was built in 1694, at the time of the Qing dynasty. The Lama Temple was initially the residence of Emperor Yongzheng when he was still only a Prince. However, in 1744, the representatives of the Qing dynasty gave the Lama Temple a new role: that of a lamasery. During your visit, do not miss the statue representing a bodhisattva and which measures no less than 12 meters! In addition to the many statues of Buddha, the Lama Temple regularly hosts exhibitions on Tibetan Buddhism and the Yongzheng coffin. To get to the Lama Temple, several buses and subway lines are available. It is also possible to come by car.\r\n\r\nThe entrance fee is 25 Yuan.
