Like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.china-roads.com\/travel\/hangzhou\/nine-streams\/\"><strong><em>the nine streams of the misty forest<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, Xixi is appreciated for its calm and soothing nature in an urban setting. The picturesque aspect and the elegance of the place have inspired many artists in painting, literature, poetry ...Designed around 1000 years ago, the Xixi Park became during the Ming and Qing Dynasty a place of economic and cultural importance: fishing, tea, bamboo, silkworm ... It is during the century last and industrialization of the region as the park became smaller and lost in importance.
