Description of Coal Hill<\/h2>

It is in the extension of the forbidden city. This artificial hill rises to 110m above sea level. It was created with the land of the moat and the Beijing lakes.<\/span><\/p>

The hill was supposed to protect the city from evil spirits coming from the north. The Emperor was the only one able to walk there.<\/span><\/p>

The Coal Hill offers breathtaking views of the Forbidden City and the rest of Beijing.<\/span><\/p>
