Presentation of the Temple of Heaven<\/h2>

The Temple of Heaven is located southeast of Tiananmen Square in Beijing. It is in the heart of a park of 270 hectares. This sacred building hosted the rites and religious celebrations led by the emperor.<\/span><\/p>

Built in 1420, this ensemble meets the Chinese cosmology. We find the opposition between Yin and Yang, between Heaven and Earth and the symbols of figures. It was forbidden to the people. Only the emperor could access it, the Temple of Heaven was a gateway to the heavenly world.<\/span><\/p>

The emperor was to attend at least three ceremonies a year. The most important were: the winter solstice, the first moon of the year and the month of June to pray for good harvests. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is the most spectacular part of the palace.<\/span><\/p>

- April to October: 15\u00a5 for park alone, 34\u00a5 for park and temples.<\/span><\/p>

- November to March: 10\u00a5 for park alone, 30\u00a5 for park and temples.<\/span><\/p>

Opening hours:<\/span><\/p>

- April to October: the park is open from 6:00 to 21:00 (6:00am to 9:00pm). The temples are open from 8:00 to 18:00 (8:00am to 6pm).<\/span><\/p>

- November to March: the park is open from 6:30 to 21:00 (6:30am to 9:00pm). The temples are open from 8:00 to 17:30 (8:00am to 5:30pm).<\/span><\/p>
