We’re leaving Wenchang today to go to Sanya.<\/div>\n

We were able to meet up with the families on both sides.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The driver was very kind and helped us contact the various people.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
For my father’s family, we had to go to the Han association, then to the town hall.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It was very epic, and we didn’t think we’d make it.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
But we were finally able to meet up with relatives.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It was very moving.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
They had photos of us (the family from France) hanging in their living room.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It’s quite strange to see our photos in the homes of strangers on the other side of the world.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
On my mother’s side, it was easier.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
They were waiting for us, and we had lunch together.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We were all very happy to see each other and meet up after all these years (my mother had only been back once, in 1985).<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
So, let me tell you, a lot has changed!<\/div>\n
